Swine flu A/H1N1 has broken out in the world since 17 April. So far, the swine flu has infected 8480 people and killed 72 and the virus has spread to 39 countries including Mexico said the announcement released by WHO on 17 May. The Ministry of Health has been taking preventive measures against the outbreak of the swine flu since 25 April as it may be able to transform into global human flu. The Ministry of Health has carried out preventive measures against the outbreak of the swine influenza (A/H1N1) in Myanmar, made preparations for keeping a constant watch on the virus and medical treatment, provided medicines and medical equipment and laboratory apparatus to the hospital and prepared the special care units and wards at the hospitals for emergency use. With regard to the situation of outbreak of swine flu, preventive measures are being taken and health knowledge is being disseminated to the people through TV, radio and dailies in time. Since 29 April, the visitors have been under medical checks at international airports, seaports and borders. Up to now, the Ministry of Health released information that there is no case of influenza A/H1N1 in Myanmar. |
