Armed groups return to legal fold understanding genuine goodwill of Government

20th March 2011 The State Government, upholding Our Three Main National Causes, has vigorously strived for national reconsolidation and made strenuous efforts for harmonious development of all corners of the nation. The armed groups, having realized the acts and genuine goodwill of the government, have felt remorse for their wrong acts and have been returning to embrace of the government, the people and the Tatmadaw. A 13-member group led by Sai Mon of SSA (Wamhing) armed group exchanged arms for peace in the region of North- East Command with 11 units of small arms, one sub-machine gun, one BA (93), 291 assorted rounds of ammunition, 16 BA (93) grenades and its nine bullets, 15 assorted magazines, one bandolier, and three land mines on 19th March 2011. Authorities concerned are providing necessary assistance to those and more armed groups members are reported to return to legal fold. |
