Realizing genuine goodwill of the State and Tatmadaw and losing faith in their activities which are then seen as inappropriate ones, insurgent group members are exchanging arms for peace while the State is moving towards modern developed new democratic nation and the Tatmadaw is joining hands with national races for burgeoning the eternal principles namely justice, liberty and equality, upholding Our Three Main National Causes.

In May, June and July of 2011, private Yan Naung Soe, and private Sai Lin and Cpl Htamai Hsinram of KIA (Kachin) in Northern Command Region; private Aik Palaik (a) Aiksan of UWSA (Wa) insurgent group in North- East Command Region; private Bawrel of SSA (Ywat Sit) in Triangle Region Command Region with one M-22 automatic rifle, 117 bullets, and four magazines; private Kyaw Khu of KNPP insurgent group in Eastern Command Region with one BA-63 automatic rifle, five bullets, and one magazine; company commander Moe Kyaw and private Moe Zaw of armed group (Thurein); L-Cpl Saw Pho Hsae of KNU insurgent group in South-East Command Region with one M-16 automatic rifle, eight bullets and one magazine; Lt Moe Thee of the same group in similar region with one 9-mm pistol, 16 bullets, one magazine, two grenades and one walkie-talkie; Cpl Saw Phatant (a) Roman of KNU insurgent group in Coastal Region Command Region with one 0.45 pistol, eight bullets and one magazine; 2nd-Lt Saw Ta Seik Seik of KNU in the same region with one M-16 automatic rifle, 10 bullets and one magazine; private Maw Lamal Hsi of KIA (Kachin) in Northwest Command Region; private Sai Bayda (a) Zaw Lin Maung of KNU insurgent group in Southern Command Region with one 0.30 carbine, 132 bullets and five magazines exchanged arms for peace. Seventeen who returned to legal fold in that period were extended warm welcome by officials at respective stations and provided with necessary assistances. Other insurgents are reportedly willing to exchange arms for peace as well.
