In order to build peace as offered by the government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, an initial peace agreement was signed between State level Peace-making Group from the Chin State Government and Chin National Front (CNF) Peace-making Group at the meeting hall of Chin State on 6 January. Present on the occasion were Union Level Peace-making Group Leader Union Minister for Rail Transportation U Aung Min, Union Minister for Environmental Conservation and Forestry U Win Tun, Chin State Chief Minister U Hong Ngai, State Minister for Security and Border Affairs Col Zaw Min Oo, General Staff Officer (Grade-I) Lt-Col Ko Ko Gyi of North- West Command, State Advocate General U Katpati L and officials and Dr Shwe Kha of CNF Peace-making Group and members.

In the presence of Union Minister U Aung Min, Union Minister U Win Tun, State Chief Minister U Hong Ngai and peace-making groups, the State Level Peace making Group and CNF Peace-making Group singed some agreements for initial peace talks and souvenirs were exchanged. Then, State Minister Col Zaw Min Oo and Dr Shwe Kha exchanged the documents and they posed for a documentary photo together with the Union Ministers.
