Innocent civilian injured in KIA’s mine blast

10 January 2012 —Maung Nyi Paung, 21, villager of Shaduzuk Village in Phakant Township of Kachin State was injured in mine blast as he stepped a mine planted by KIA (Kachin) Group near Moekaung Creek on his way back to home from gold-panning site around 11.30 pm on 8 January.

The mine victim was injured under his right armpit with his left toe cut off. The victim was rushed to Tanai People’s Hospital by authorities concerned who were giving him necessary assistance.—
