Theidpan Market formerly called Hsinmin Market at the junction of Hsinmin Road and Strand Road in Ahlon Township entering its aging time is due to be upgraded soon through free secret voting system in consideration of the desires of sellers.

The market is a onestory building and cannot catch proper light due to its low roofing structure. To upgrade the market, responsible persons asked shopkeepers for their desire by secret voting system at the in-charge office from 9 am to 4 pm on 13 January.

Deputy Head U Maung Maung Aye of Markets Department of the Yangon City Development Committee, district heads, township administrators, the township police head and members of market supervisory committee took charge of voting process.

YCDC is going to upgrade the market as there were 470 vote in favour and 185 against.

It was learnt that during construction period, temporary stalls will be put up in Thiri Mingala playground. But, no information about the exact place of hundreds of vendors is coming out yet, by all accounts.
