The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw continued for the 23rd day session at the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Hall of Hluttaw Building, here, at 10 am today, attended by Speaker of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw U Khin Aung Myint, Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw Thura U Shwe Mann and 516 Pyidaungsu Hluttaw representatives.

Member of the Joint Bill Committee Defence Services Personnel Representative Col Hla Tun reported on findings and remarks of the Joint Bill Committee on the Union Budget Bill 2012.
Union Minister for Finance and Revenue U Hla Tun submitted the proposal on the 2012 Union Budget Bill at the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, and U Thein Yi of Htantabin Township Constituency supported the proposal.

As the Speaker of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw sought the approval of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw for discussing the bill, the Hluttaw approved it. Dr Myat Nyana Soe of Yangon Region Constituency No. 4, Dr Sai Kyaw Ohn of Namkham Constituency, U Soe Thein of Kalewa Constituency, U Hsai Paung Nup of Shan State Constituency No. 12, U Paul Hlyan Lwin of Chin State Constituency No. 9, Daw Tin Nwe Oo of Dagon Myothit (North) Constituency, U Ohn Tin of Rakhine State Constituency No. 10, U Tha Sein of Kyauktaw Constituency, Dr Aye Maung of Rakhine State Constituency No. 1, U Khin Maung (a) U Aung Kyaw Oo of Rakhine State Constituency No. 3, Dr Tin Shwe of Yangon Region Constituency No. 6, Dr Win Myint of Hline Constituency and U Win Oo of Yebyu Constituency participated in the discussions on principle and basic factors of 2012 Union Budget Bill. Next, respective Union Ministers replied to the discussions on principle and basic factors of the bill. Union Minister for Finance and Revenue U Hla Tun explained budget allocation to Self-Administered Zones, reduction of tax rate and preparations for levying tax on a wide scale; Union Minister for Defence Lt-Gen Hla Min inspection of recruitment and sharing of profits of Union of Myanmar Economic Holdings Ltd; Union Minister for Energy U Than Htay estimated expenditure of the ministry for 2012-2013 fiscal year and creation of more job opportunities for the citizens in state projects; Union Minister for Education Dr Mya Aye extended construction of school buildings and more appointment of teachers; Deputy Minister for Health Dr Daw Myat Myat Ohn Khin spending of allotted fund on extended construction of buildings at Universities of Medicine, hospitals and rural health centres in 2012-2013 fiscal year and purchase of medicines for cost-sharing health care system.
