Armed groups return to legal fold

28 April 2012While the government is eradicating narcotic drugs through various ways and means and focusing on development of border areas and national races, small groups of drug culprit Sai Naw Kham that is robbing the ships along Mekong River and committing hijacks, narcotic drugs and destructive acts run away from the main group. On 23 April, an eight-member group led by Aik Tun, after realizing the goodwill of the State, returned to the legal fold. On 27 April, a 12-member group led by Law Hsan of drug culprit group led by Sai Naw Kham, bringing along with six assorted arms, 210 rounds of ammunition, eight magazines, 10 grenades and one mine, connected with the Tatmadaw camp in Tachilek Station and returned to the legal fold. Officials of the local military camp warmly welcomed those who returned to the legal fold and are making arrangements to provide necessary assistance for security and rehabilitation of their families. |
