Every nation and its people all over the world has its own traditional culture and customs according to its geographical condition. All the people have been preserving their cultural and ancestral heritages. Chin Cultural Museum is opened with the aims not only to reveal and preserve Chin Cultural heritages but also to cherish the nation and its people, and to take pride in the fine traditions.

If you observe this museum, you will first see the photo chart that shows their region-wise styles and traditional costumes. At the booth of utensils and costumes, you can study the dressing style of Khami, Zomi and Laimi national races.

Chin national races proudly wear their traditional costumes which are woven by themselves. And Chin traditional blackstrap looms have been widely using up to the present day. Dry gourds (water bottle), cups of traditional brew which were used by the ancient Chin people can be also seen in the exhibition. Moreover, the ancient pipes, traditional looms, the materials used in looming and Chin cotton blankets can also be observed there. Bowls, spoons, plates and mortars used in traditional praying of Chin people are also displayed there. By observing these utensils, we can see a lovely and peaceful living style of Chin people.

In the show-room of paintings and photographs, those of the Chin leaders of Expansionist Revolution and outstanding persons are also displayed. Furthermore, the photo of the heart-shaped Rih Lake in Chin State, and the paintings of Chin Lady’s weaving are attracting to observers. The paintings and photos displayed there show the Chin’s traditional culture.

We can see the bronze bracelets, beads, necklaces, Chin traditional belts and costumes in the ornamental booth.

In the booth of weapons, one can find various kinds of ancient weapons, especially those are used in mountain-hunting.

In the literature booth, books and magazines about Chin national races are mainly collected so that the observers can gain knowledge, and the researchers and the students can get references.

At musical instrument showroom, musical instruments such as, big gongs, drums, bamboo flutes, gourd flutes, horn flutes, Tain Tan (Chin traditional violin) and various sizes of gongs can be studied interestingly.
