| All national races who are residing in Myanmar have their own cultures, traditions and customs. It is a pride for Myanmar people as these cultures, traditions and customs have being preserved cherishly, today. All national races such as Bamar, Rakhine, Chin, Mro and Khami have been inhabiting in Rakhine State and their traditions and customs are also to be cherished. In today’s programme, we’ll be presenting to you Khami national’s dance. Khami nationals are residing in Kyauk Taw region in Rakhine State where the beautiful Kisspanadi River is flowing continuously. This dance depicts the friendliness of Khami race, their culture and custom which are to be proud of and in a way invites visitors to come and visit to this land, the Rakhine State. Khami nationals wear their costumes by weaving themselves. The designs and patterns of clothes, woven on a backdrop loom (or) hand-woven clothes are beautiful and lovingly. The price of these hand-woven clothes is high and they are decorated with beautiful colours and patterns. |

| Khami damsels wear silver foot-chains on their feet. They also wear colourful and beautiful logyis in various patterns and adorn girdles made of silver coins around waists. Their blouses are hand-woven clothes and shawls are covered on their shoulders. They wear silver coin necklaces around their necks and also wear turbans, which are decorated with sequins, on their heads. The khami men-folk wear hand-woven clothes, which are sewn together two pieces of clothes. Their shirts are beautiful with colourful designs. This dance depicts transplanting and winnowing of paddy, pounding rice and also shows their daily works (or) activities. Kisspanadi River is beautifully flowing as well as Kyauk Taw hill is also standing in the Rakhine State as long as the world exists. Their traditions, customs, cultures and loving dances of Khami nationals will exist forever together with the Kisspanadi River and Kyauk Taw hill and they warmly welcome visitors to come and visit to their regions. |
