A Day In A Farmer's Life

When the cook crows at down, the farmers in the rural countryside start their daily chores. Firstly, the farmers have to feed their draught oxen before they begin their daily farming. The other farm animals like the chickens; ducks are also fed at the same time. When the cattle are fed they are led out the cowshed to be prepared for tailing the paddy fields by harnessing plough on to the drought oxen.
The yoke is then fastened on to the oxen so that they can plough the paddy fields. The short string looped around the draught cattle's necks and fixed to the yoke, the plough beam is fixed to the plough, the pair of draught oxen are ready to enter the fields. So, the draught oxen's are advancing towards their fields. The oxen plough the fields until the fields are ready for the paddy to be planted. The farmers usually plough their fields before the start of the monsoon so that the fields will be ready to receive the water when monsoon comes. The farmer's children bring the lunch they have prepared and cooked at home over to the fields where he's working.

And when they stop their work, the farmer and his son will enjoy their meal on the embankment of the paddy field. This is how the farmers always have their meals. The scene depicts the simple and honest life of our rural farmers. After having their lunch, the duo cannot lay back and rest. There is still a lot of work to be done. To have proper water containment and drainage, they have to prepare the field beforehand. And with the mud from the paddy field they use to build embankments so that irrigation for the paddy fields is ready for the rainy season.
After systematically ploughing the field, and when the paddy seedlings are at a height of a foot, the rice seedlings are pull out for transplanting. This is called transplanting paddy you can find green and luscious paddy fields to eyes extent, wherever you travel in Myanmar. And when a hard day's work has been done and while waiting for the farmers return home his family cooks the dinner. The dynamic duo, who have returned from the fields, are preparing for tomorrow's work, still through the evening. The sun has gone down, and disappeared around the horizon, the farmer's family now is having their dinner. Without any presumptuous thought they humbly enjoy their dinner together. Our Myanmar farmers lead simple but happy lives and we can say they have a bright future a head for them.
