Our MRTV-3 crew is here at the viewpoint a hill recreation center on the way from Mandalay to Pyin-Oo-Lwin. From the viewpoint you can see attractive mountain ranges and winding motorways up to the hill. Now, we are proceeding to Pyin-Oo-Lwin, which is renowned as a beautiful hill resort. After a 42 miles drive from Mandalay, we arrive Pyin-Oo-Lwin, which is located a top a range in a plateau of Myanmar. As it is over 3,000 feet above sea level, it is cool the whole year round. And Pyin-Oo-Lwin is known as the city of flower for its ever blooming colourful seasonal flower. Now, we arrive a pleasant and beautiful mountain resort of Pyin-Oo-Lwin. As we arrive Pyin-Oo-Lwin, there is a recreation place we should visit without fail. That is the National Kandawgyi Gardens where botanical observations could be made and picturesque floral scene await you. This internal standard eco-tourism archway situated at the entrance of National Kandawgyi Gardens are built beautifully with big teak wood, ironed wood and Yinmar wood, which are produced from the forests of Myanmar.

After passing through the international standard eco-tourism archways, you can see and feel the beauty of fountains, waterfalls and the seasonal flowers. National Kandawgyi Gardens has an area of 436.9 acres including natural forests, tiers of lakes and recreational lounge plus a newly landscape and scenic views.

This is an educative plantation for the people who are interested in the plants and forests. With an objective for those people the wood species are grown in 75 blocks. Tress can view 482 species of domestic and 67 species of trees from foreign countries. Staff Officer U Thet Htun of Forest Conservation said, " since the establishment of the National Kandawgyi Gardens trees have been planted in respective blocks according to the species and conservation works have been carried out systematically. There is a natural forest in the gardens and palm trees plantations have been in existed since 1954. Apart from the original species grown in the gardens, local and foreign hardwood species are being grown also ". Now we are looking at 75 species of bamboo representing Myanmar Forests and bamboo species are on displayed here.

This orchid garden is specially decorated for the orchid lovers and these orchids are collected from all parts of Myanmar. So, you can see 260 species in one place. In the orchid garden, colourful species of Myanmar orchids and form abroad are separately grown for the appreciation of orchid lovers. It is also wonderful to see rare water foul such s mandarin duck, swans etc. swimming in the pleasant ponds. As you approach the birdcages, you can observe 50 rare species of birds including Myanmar white peacock, black peacock. Beside the rare birds you can see 2 golden deer and 4 rare takin from Hponkarazi Razi Region in Northern Myanmar.
Local and foreign visitors who came for recreation and to view the scenic beauty of the garden can go around by car or on foot as well as climb up the Nanmyint tower, we get a magnificent breath taking view of the gardens. Now, we are here at the top of the Nanmyint tower. From the tower you can observe the magnificent view of the beautiful scenery of Kandawgyi Garden, the lake and the surroundings of the view 215 feet high, 12 stories Nanmyint tower has an elevator and stairways. After you have travel around the Kandawgyi toe your heart satisfaction, Kandawgyi Lodge welcomes you.
