With the aim of advertising and valuable ancient cultural heritage, beautiful natural scenery and various guises of hospitable national races of Myanmar to the rest of the world, the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism has been holding colour photo contests in which Myanma beauty and Myanma nature are scenically displayed.

In 2003 Myanma beauty and Myanma nature colour photo contest of Hotels and Tourism Enterprise, Ko Sitt Thwe Kyaw, one of the members of Myanmar Photographic society of Mandalay won the prize.

I was interested in photography since childhood. I started taking photo since 1993. Along my university life I studied also, I got the degree of Electronic Engineering from Mandalay Technological University at 2001. After my graduation, I seriously took the photos. It was my life and it was my work.

I have got some prize before but the first prize in the competitions of Hotels and Tourism was my biggest prize. Now my friend and me established the Photo Art-2 Gallery and we intend to enter more photo contest in our country and other. Now, I am very encouraged.

I got time planning to take this photo and I already had an idea to take the photo of Mandalay palace. So I patiently waited to get my successful work for a long time. I took this photo at the Northeast comer of Mandalay palace. One day I got this photo at the time the sky is filled with beautiful clouds and the raise of sun reflected to the cloud and radiated the symbolic colour of our country. At that time, I took this photo and I arranged great composition and correct exposure. Because of the right choice of an angle of view and lens’ focal length, perspective was correct. To get this first prize award photo, I used a Nikon camera and Kodak film.

Visitors to Myanmar like sunset of Myanmar. So I think sunset photos of our beautiful old palace will give the great advantages for Myanmar Tourism promotion.

The first prize winning colour photo depicts the spire and tarnish of Mandalay palace against the glow of cloud and sunset. Myanmar is famous in its beautiful splendid scenery and also the younger generation of photographer is very significant. With the assistance of the hands of the photographer, let the other countries know ‘ How beautiful Myanmar is! ’.
