I would like to tell you about a place as peaceful as the flowing water of the Shweli Li river, in northern Shan State. The place is the Hsin Shwe Li home for the aged, located in Lashio, Northern Shan State which was inaugurated on 30th October, 2004.
The meaning of Hsin is beautiful in appearance magnificent and stanle in charater and that of Shweli, a river that flows on forever. Hence Hsin Shweli means this home for the aged will last as long as the Shweli river flows.
The aged persons at this home are given special attention and fed with care. Careful attention is paid so that they have a well-balance and natrious menu approproate to their age. Well wishers can donate as much as they like to Hsin Shwe Li home for the aged on any day they choose.
Special care is taken for the health of the aged persons here. A group of specialists takes turn in giving medical treatment to the aged persons. A doctor with genuine goodwill and who is looking after the aged persons said…..

The main purpose of the Hsin Shwe Li home for the aged is to help the aged persons who here become helpless and unattended. As Myanmar people are well known for their noble spirit, the homes like Hsin Shwe Li are being established to care for the helpless aged persons, all over the country.

And now although they are old in age, because of homes like Hsin Shwe Li, these aged persons are to worrg no nore. Hence like the golden flowing water of the Shwe Li river, the golden compassion of wellwishers played a major role in establishing homes like Hsin Shwe Li which fulfills the needs of the aged persons. Now they can practise Dhama in serenity and have peaceful lives.
