King Whale Express

Our country, Myanmar, is rich in many creeks and rivers. So, water transport is very crucial for transportation services. Especially, people in the whole delta region in Ayeyawaddy Division have to rely only on waterway.

Transportation between Yangon and delta region of Ayeyawaddy Division mainly depends on waterway. So, the state-owned ships from Inland Water Transport and private-owned ones ply along the rivers and creeks in delta region.

These ships ply regularly at about 12 nautical miles per hour. In Water Transport sector, the passenger need the tour of express vessels that meet high standard in which they can travel comfortably within a short time.

To fulfill that requirement, Royal Ayeyar Co., Ltd is making arrangement to ply express vessel on 171 nautical mile long Yangon-Letputta river route in Ayeyawaddy Division.

There are two classes in this express vessel upper and economy classes. 58 passengers in upper class and 158 passengers in economy class totalling 216 persons can travel in the vessel. Upper class is at the bow of the express. The passengers can comfortably travel in the upper class due to the installation of high standard seats, air-conditioners and TV sets. The fare price is 6000 kyats for economy class and 8000 kyats for upper class.

The travel insurance is 1 million kyats per head. The speed of the express vessel is 17 nautical miles per hour.

Ahlon dockyard
Inland Water Transport

King Whale Express has been constructed by Ahlon dockyard of Inland Water Transport as Royal Ayar Co., Ltd which is one of the private companies has entrusted the task. This express vessel was started to construct on 15th May, 2006 and now the construction task has been completed cent per cent. The vessel is 140 ft long, 17 ft wide and 5 ft and 9 inches deep iron hull. Ahlon dockyard has undertaken the measures on construction of iron-hull of the vessel and installation of machinery. The design of the vessels was submitted by the Royal Ayar Co., Ltd.

Economically, the town Letputta of is a strategic point in Ayeyawaddy Division. And it is also densely populated. The local populace mostly rely on waterway and many people travel to Yangon daily through water-way.

In the past, the Yangon-Letputta trip took about 20 hours. But now, King Whale Express will cut the time to 11 hours and passengers can make a trip safely, comfortably with high standard.
