Lucky Bamboo

The Lucky Bamboo, botanical name Dracaeao Sanderiana is a tropical plant of the lily family with naked branches ending in tufts of sword shaped leaves. Origin started in Southeast Asia and now has grown in popularity worldwide as a unique indoor plant, which can survive long periods. Orientals believe it is lucky and may bring good luck.
In 1999, I’ve found this lucky bamboo abroad. At that time, I didn’t think that the raw materials were available here. And I took it to my home for decoration. Later I realized that it is made with Zaw Sein plant. As soon as I knew about it, I started this business since 1999.

Firstly, leaves on the stems are removed. Then the stalks are grouped according to the same rode and girth and then cut by scissors. You have to cut near the node so that a new shoot can freely develop. The cut stalks are band and made steps mostly in odd order such as 3 steps, 5 and 7. Odd numbers are considered as lucky numbers. After finishing these steps, golden wire strings and colourful ribbons are tied on the “Lucky Bamboo” as decoration. Now, the beautiful and artistic lucky bamboos gifts are ready to be sold in the market.
The sale was low because of there was not enough raw material readily available so we can send it to the market widely. 7 steps, 5 steps and 3steps are mainly distributed and other decorations are made by myself and sold with porcelain ware pot, glassware pot and plastic pot. Lucky bamboo enjoys an indoor environment and dislike intense direct sunlight. Humid warm air exposure will comfort the plant and keep it’s leaves and stalks healthy and green. No soil is needed for lucky Bamboo, just fill about 1 inch of pure water enough to cover the roots into a container or pot and put the stalks in. Change container water every 15 days.

We try to export it. It is very expensive abroad and here we can see plenty of it as raw materials. Water bamboo well known throughout Europe, this plant is probably the most popular indoor plant in Europe. The plant is regarded as a symbol of good luck. New businesses are presented with towers of canes up to one metre high as gifts of luck for a new venture. Orientals New Year is celebrated with the giving of lucky bamboo as a gift to bring prosperity for the New Year lucky bamboo is also attributed to bringing good luck, prosperity health, harmony, peace and harmonious relationship.
