Creating a beautiful piece of artwork, like a toy is no easy task at all. There are several steps to get the exact measurements and shape of the original “toys” made from different kinds of materials, such as paper, clay, wood, gold, silver, metal…etc, etc.
In this program we will present to our audience, “toys” made from metal. The 1st step in this toy making process is the design stage. The required design is firstly drawn with a pencil, and then later on, painted over. After painting with the desired colours and acquiring the design of your choice, the next stage is the sculpture room, where a model is made from clay.
After this clay model is finished, it is set aside as a sample model, and a rubber mould is made from it. With the rubber mould finished you pour into this mould the pre-mixed solution of lead, tin and antimony. Then you heat the mould for 280 seconds, and you can get several moulds of the same design.

After getting these moulds, you have to file them, sand-papered them. Some of the toys come in with separate parts: such as hands, feet so they have to firstly be join together. Then the last step in the raw-process is the finishing of the toy, with the filling process. Great care has to be taken in this delicate step.
When this is all finished, the toy is given an initial first white under-coating. Later on the step of painting the toy, with all kinds of delightful colours is made.
The eyes are coloured back. The face skin tone. The lips…red, and for the dress… all sorts of bright cheerful colours. After being inspected individually, the “toys” are then sent to the market.
I am sure you can imagine to yourself, what decorating items these toys will be on your wall, in your living room or in the bedroom of your home. These delightful and enchanting toys will always remind us of our culture, customs and religion.
