Inn-lay Lake in the south of the Shan State of the Union of Myanmar is famous for its natural beauty as well as the custom of leg rowing of Inn-thar and Inn-thu, which also reflects the picturesque scenes. There is a saying, which translates "Boat is the cradle, boat is life".

You can find the custom of leg rowing only on the Inn-lay Lake. But it is part of their daily life. It’s fabulous. You wouldn’t ever imagine a one-legged rower, but it simple is what you find.

Do you want to become a leg rower like the Intha on Inlay Lake?

Here we give the secret on how you can develop such a skill for which your friends will envy you.

Although the technique is not too difficult, it requires some practice sessions.

- First stand at the rear of the boat and

- next take a firm hold of the oar with your right (or) left hand ( depending on personal choice )

- then hook your foot around the oar holding it steady between your calf and knee on the same side.

After that, bend your body forward then push the handle end forward with the calf and knee.

The next step is -hook your foot over the oar and pull the blade end backward, with your foot.

In this way -repeat the process indefinitely until you have grasped the basic technique. You are now ready to try for the real thing.
