We are now here at Taunggok, one of the famous towns in Rakhine State for its fisheries business, where we have a chance to visit an interesting wholesale center of fish & prawn, owned by a local entrepreneur. It is the main supplier of all kinds of fish prawns. This center is on the bank of Taunggok creek.
By establishing buying center, fish and prawn dealers are collecting the goods and distributing them to export markets via Yangon.

Cold storage facilities are the main essential item for the fishery industry to be always fresh and kept set standard quality on marine products. Ices are used in different ways.
So, ice plants are established in almost every regions of the Rakhine State and produce different sizes of ice on a wider scale. At Taunggok Township, there are 3 ice plants and we visited one of them.
