Mor Shan national race relates to Shan nationals and they mostly live in northern Shan State with the backdrop of green mountain ranges in northeast of Myanmar. Mor Shans live in Hse` Lant village, 5 miles from Muse Township in Northern Shan State. As they are Buddhists, all the family members gather to pay respects to Buddha image, offer food and say their prayers in the early morning. |

Afterwards, they cook traditional sour mustard stalk and suitable amount of salt in a pot and cook it. Then mustard leaves are cut, rinsed and added to the boiling saucepot. Slice tomatoes are put in the pot. After 10 minutes, proper amount of brown sugarcane slab is added. When mustard leaves get tender, the pot is removed from the stove and put the sliced thin green chili and coriander leaves. Now, traditional mustard sour soup is ready to be served. Mor Shans used to have breakfast in traditional big circular tray. They sit around the tray and happily have their meal. After the meal, they start their daily chores. |

Mor Shans have strong belief in religion and donate generously without hesitation. On the eve of Buddhist lent period, single youths, male and female, gather at village monastery. Playing traditional music, they strolled around the village for asking for alms. They offer the offertories received to the monastery. |
