It can be caught during ebb tide. First, take out the sea urchin from water with a knife and move the pricks carefully. After turning it upside down, pierce hole the stomach and remove inedible parts. Take only brain parts Yellow coloured brain, if eaten, is said to give strength and makes one fit. The brains of sea urchins must be washed properly and scrambled with egg and fry it and ingredients of one’s liking can be mixed. It becomes a very delicious dish.
Sea creatures such as fish, prawn and shrimp are dried and eaten. Another seafood is ray or skate species, which is called smart. This grey-coloured fish has a large broad flat body. It has bone only in the middle of the body not at the sides. Therefore, the central part is cut off. The flesh is then cut alternately on both sides so as to make it flower shape. This beautifully shaped fish is dried for about two days in the sun. This dried fish can be eaten by cooking, boiling or frying as one’s liking. It is very delicious. Accordingly, sea urchins and smart dried fish are tasty seafoods.
