Palaung Traditional Dances in Pan Kwan Village

The Pan Kwan village you are seeing now is situated 24-miles from Kyauk Mae` in Kyauk Me` District of Northern Shan State, 3,600 ft above sea level in the North-Eastern part of Myanmar.
Palaung national brethrens populate the Pankwan village, which is surrounded by cool and pleasant misty mountain ranges.
The Palaung national race cultivates the plantations on a commercial call on these mountain ranges, covering over 1,456 acres.

Pan Kwan Tea is very popular around the country. Palaung national race of Pan Kwan village have their own many interesting traditional dances.
The velvet dress of Palaung ladies sparkle with beautiful sequins wearing the silver flat-belt at their waist, with matching necklaces and bracelets, the ladies dance the harmonious movements of the knees, hands and body which are charming to observe.

Another performance is named “ Pot of wisdom ’’. This dance depicts the wishes that are asked for by all the brethrens who wish to attain Nivana and these who wish to possess good health and wealth and those who wish good education for their children.
