In Rakhine State, there are two kinds in production of quality prawn, the 1^st one is catching from natural sea-water and the 2^nd one is semi-intensive culture system. We will how present the breeding process of prawn through the semi-intensive culture system carried out by Everlive Co; Ltd which is the leading and biggest Co; Ltd which is the leading biggest prawn export in Rakhine State.

Could you tell me in brief about your Company?
Our Company is situated at Min Dalin Grounds in U Yin Pyin village tract, Thandwe Township in Rakhine State. We have two-acres to every pond and there are 17 ponds. Total investment I s250 million Kyats and we have 50 employees.

In Rakhine State, our Everlive Company and Leo Company are the first which conducted the prawn breeding work as a model. With the guidance of the State Leaders, other business entrepreneurs have observed our activities and are implementing the prawn breeding works in Ayeyarwaddy and Yangon Divisions which are gaining momentum.
What sort of system do you apply in prawn breeding process?
We use semi-intensive culture system and breed 2-times a year. One takes 4-months and produces 5-tons per acre. So we can produce altogether 90 tons that is 5-tons each from 17 ponds.
How do you distribute the prawns?
The prawns we've bred in our ponds are " Tiger " species. They are sent to Yangon in cold storage trucks and turned into finished products and exported to Japan, America and Europe via Yangon. Annual income is $ 270,000.
Are there any plans to expand your business?
We have a plan to extend our prawn breeding ponds from 17 to 30.
