With the aim of advertising in valuable ancient cultural heritage, beautiful natural scenery and various custom of hospitable, national races of Myanmar to the rest of the world, Ministry of Hotels and Tourism has been holding color photo contest in which Myanmar beauty and Myanmar nature are scenically displayed. We, MRTV-3 had a chance to interviewed officials of Ministry of Hotel and Tourism.

Director General of the Ministry of Hotel and Tourism U Khin Maung Latt said, “The reason of the aim of the objective of color photo contest is - to aware of Myanmar and to promote tourism through the photos.

Two times of photo contest was held in Myanmar. The first time was after 1996 visit Myanmar year. We made a photo contest sponsored by Ifer Film Company. At that time there’s limited because we allowed only the Ifer film and bromide paper. So the contestants and photos are very limited, we received. The 2nd time is very recently that finishing. At that time, we received a lot of photographs because we allowed all the contestants can use any kinds of papers or films and we allowed digital camera to use, they can participate”.
President of Myanmar Photographic Society U Pe Myint Oo said, “There were 218 participants from all over the country who submitted 1,080 excellent photographs”.
The judges from Myanmar Photographic Society are systematically the competing photos.

Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism U Myo Lwin said, “We have photo bank in our Ministry. All the photos that have been submitted we will put in the photo bank. After that we will put on the Internet. We will make it available for those who are interested to buy from our photo bank. And the proceed will go to the photographer concerned”.
Director (Tourism Promotion) of the Ministry of Hotel and Tourism Daw Nyunt Nyunt Than said, “We will use the photos in producing our pamphlets, brochures and CD-ROMs and we will send to the ASEAN Secretariat to participate in the ASEAN photo exhibition”.
