Lobster (or) giant prawn is an expensive and scarce marine commodity. They live and wander among the rocks in the sea. Bamboo lobster can usually be caught in large amounts in Rakhine Coast as well as in Thanitharyi coastline. The lobster hunters capture their lobsters alive and then send them to the buying centers. Before distributing to Yangon, lobsters are systematically kept in special treatment ponds at the buying center. The concrete-type ponds are divided into natural purification ponds, bio-purification ponds, chemical purification ponds, thus the lobsters are then released into the ponds and purificated. Oxygen is also given constantly. |
