In 1988, people had to rely on only water way to travel to Pathein and other regions. But now people can easily access to Pathein via Kyet Paung-Yay Ooe Sin gravel road in all seasons. Furthermore, local people can travel smoothly and conveniently to Ya Manay Pin Kai village in the North, U-Do (Owdk) Village in the South and Ma Gyee Kone and Talaing Chaung Kone village in the East via village-to-village earthen roads. After supplying electric power to the village through paddy husk powered generator, the electric light can be lit at these places. Moreover, I can also after electricity to the every alter light of 200 houses, free of charge. No other business could help me perform such kind of meritorious deed. I chose this business because I want to gain the merit. That’s why, whenever, I see the light, and my heart is filled with delight that I have never felt before. |

U Maung Oo There is no forced labour in my village. In accord with our traditions, the villagers carry out the benefit and interests of the village by themselves with their own volition. Over 70 % of the State’s population lives in rural areas. The government is materializing the work programs on supplying electricity in rural areas, establishment of village libraries, besides implementing 5-rural development programs. That’s why, unprecedented progress and prosperity can be witnessed in the Kyet Paung Model Village due to the rendering assistance of the State, systematic management and administration of the Village Peace and Development Council and united and harmonious efforts of local residents. |
