A mass rally to appose and condemn the announcement of secession of Shan State from the Union by renegade Sao Hkam Hpa and cohorts took place in the compound of Basic Education High School in Mongnaung Township, Loilem District, Shan State (South) on 10th May 2005. Also present were local nationals from nearby villages and leasers and members of 10 national races peace groups that have returned to the legal fold totaling about 7500. Local residents in Mongnaung are making endeavors with concerted efforts for the development of the region. The entire region was unprecedentedly developed with peace and stability thanks to the correct leadership of the government and the harmonious efforts of the locals.
The genuine desire of Shan nationals is as follow.

I really think, it is necessary to hold this mass rally. So that the public will come to realize the wicked intentions of the lackeys of colonialists”.

“We totally oppose renegade Sao Hkam Hpa and cohorts and their declaration, and that is why we have come here to support this mass rally. We will need to hold this kind of rallies all over the country, so that all the nationals will see the wicked intentions to wreck the Union by the lackeys of colonialists”. No matter how much expatriate Sao Hkam Hpa and cohorts made evil acts, all the 54 million people of more than 100 national races in the nation are protesting with one voice against the destructive acts of Sao Hkam Hpa and accomplices. This ceremony witnessed the national unity and consolidation.
