Pleasant Taunggyi ( Part- II )

Taunggyi is situated in Shan State which is one of the 7 states in Myanmar. It is situated in Southern Shan State and it’s the capital. Taunggyi was founded on 15th September 1844. It is 4,712 feet above sea level and it is a cool and pleasant town. It is accessible by road. Taunggyi is surrounded by Nyaung Shwe, Ho Pone, Yat Sout and Kalaw Townships. There are 20 wards and 21 villages in Taunggyi. Now, we are going to present the scenic beauty and the development of Taunggyi.

There are six Basic Education High Schools in Taunggyi and the Government Technological College (Aye Thaya) is also nurturing many outstanding students every year.

Myanmar Agriculture Service has been growing Natha Hmway paddy strains at the entrance of Heho, about 5 miles from Taung Lay Lone village tract and 22 miles from Taunggyi. Natha Hmway Rice is well-known because it is an export product and suitable for those who are suffering from diabetes and hypertension.

Furthermore, you can see that corn plantations are luxuriantly grown in the central Agriculture farm in Heho and Kalaw. They are hybrid corn and also the fruits of development of agriculture sector.

Gingers, potatoes and Naga Mauk fruits are being grown by Myanmar Agriculture Service in Heho Breeding Farm. At this breeding farm, there are laboratories where potatoes are germinated from seeds by using Korean methods, and the potato saplings are being nurtured.

You can see green and lush cabbage plantations, potato plantations, chayote plantations, corn plantations and paddy field, along the road to Aung Pan, Kalaw and Heho which prove the development of agriculture sector in Myanmar.
