Myanmar is rich in marine resources. Apart from production of fish& Prawn, crab export market is also gaining momentum. There are two species of crab in our country, sea-crab & mud-crab. In Rakhine State, mud-crab trading is widely in progress.

One of the popular businesses of the Rakhine State is crab Industry. At Taunggut township, there are also crab buying centers and buy the crabs from respective local collectors and choose the crabs according to their size & weight.

Before exporting to the market, crabs are kept in the 3*4 ft wide & 4 ft high bamboo-screened bucket, which they called a common workshop for freshness.

There are put into the floating raft and immersed seawater.
After gathering the crabs in the same size, they are packed and sent to MDL. At MDL, they are made systematic re-packing and exports through the border town Muse.

They are taken out at the exporting time and put in the wooden box in line one after another. A box can hold 400 crabs. There are abundant in marine products including crabs at Rakhine coastline region and today's demand for crabs in export market are increasing more and more.
