Delicious Sein Talone Mangoes
Depicting delicious foods, there is a Myanmar saying that goes: “ The most tastiest fruit is mango, meat is pork and leaf is a pickled tealeaf ".Among such delicious eatables, I am presenting on mangoes.

Mango trees are primarily grown in tropical regions and they could be planted in cold regions as well but the mangoes would be delayed one day to get matured and ripened if the mango trees are grown in places each 100 feet above the sea level. Now, you are witnessing the mango trees being planted in Yatsauk Township in Southern Shan State. The strains include Sein Talone, May Kyauk and Yin Kwe` mangoes but Sein Talone mangoes are mostly planted there. Sein Talone mangoes are significantly delicious and it has fragrance smell and it does not have fibers in the pulp. There are two kinds of methods in planting the mango trees. One is the seeding method in which seeds are taken from ripened mangoes. And then, peel them without hurting its membranes in order to let the sprouts come out swiftly. You have to place the peeled mango seeds in nursery packets, filled with humus and soil in one to one ratio. After 21 days, the seedlings come out and they are kept in the nursery packets for 6 months to a year. Later, they are transplanted in orchard.

By the seeding method, the mango trees would be thrived with fruits five years after planting them. There are two ways in the grafting method. The first is grafting in the nursery packets where we cut a branch of the matured mango tree and then, join and graft with the mango sapling in the nursery packet. The second is grafting in the orchard. By this method, the fruits would be thriving within a year. When the mangoes are matured, they are kept on newspaper bags to prevent insects from spoiling them and for the fruits, to become smooth as well. In plucking the fruit, we need to take care not to hurt and ruin them.

The plucked mangoes are rinsed and cleaned with water and then we select the fruits without defects. Afterward, the chosen mangoes are weighed systematically according to their sizes. Later on, they are kept in the baskets systematically for sending them to the market. The baskets are then transported to Yangon by the cold storage vans. When the mangoes arrive in Yangon, process for export are carried out by machine at the vegetable cold storage plant of Yangon City Development Department. Firstly, the mangoes are put on the machine, which selects colour and sizes, dryness and polishing.After weighing them, the various sizes of mangoes are applied with polishing oil. Later, the mangoes are put in the cardboard boxes placing thin papers among each mango layer not to get ruined and hurt them. Then, each mango boxes are weighed again.

Nowadays, Sein Talone mangoes are being planted in Myanmar not only for domestic consumption but also for export. The planting, distributing and packaging of the mangoes are systematically carried out in Myanmar with objectives to export and for the consumers to enjoy delicious and fine quality mangoes safely.
