The scenic views along the road are very enchanting as the road is snaking through green and lush hills.

Pyin Oo Lwin renown as the beautiful “floral city” is situated on the route.

Now you can witness fully loaded trucks running along the way that shows the smooth and secure transportation rendered by the government.

Before long, we behold a glittering silvery viaduct, situated among the green and lush mountain ranges.

It is the famous viaduct, called “Gok Hteik”.

Gok Hteik is famous not only because of the subterranean river but also because of the World’s second highest viaduct named the “Gok Hteik Viaduct”. In constructing the railway between Mandalay and Lashio, the Gok Hteik viaduct was built in 1903. Unlike other bridges which cross streams and rivers, the Gok Hteik Bridge crosses two great ravines over 300 feet in depth.

After documenting the “Gok Hteik Viaduct”, we passed through snaking roads that place we’ve come to know as “the view point”.

Then, we proceeded our journey, gazing at the strikingly beautiful road formation.

Although the way to northern Shan State is up-hill road, it didn’t take much time as the road is smooth and secure. So we could make a good headway.

In Northern Shan State, many national races such as Bamar, Shan, Pa-O and Palaung reside peacefully and happily together. So, unique beautiful traditional customs can be observed.

In this region, paddy, wheat, tea, sugar-cane, coffee and rubber are mainly cultivated. At present, orange, sun-kit and pear are also cultivated on a commercial scale.

Scenic beauty along the road is pleasant with teak forests, orchards and paddy fields.

Many fruit stalls can be seen along the route. We had an amazing experience to take a rest while buying and enjoying fresh local fruits.

Orange and sun-kit are very plentiful and famous among the local products of Northern Shan State.

Our MRTV-3 crew also documented the river which is beautifying the picturesque scene of Northern Shan State.

We started our journey from Yangon to Mandalay, and from Mandalay to Pyin Oo Lwin, and then passed through NaungCho, Kyaukme`, Thipaw, Lashio, Theni, Kuat Khine from town to town and our itinerary will end in Muse.

Theini is a town of plateau where paddy cultivation is successful. From there, we passed through Kutkhine and after driving along the smooth ascending and descending hilly road, you’ll reach “Muse”.

Muse is famous as a strategic town for border trade with neighbouring china.

Especially, the government has successfully implemented for the emergence of modern trade zone. That’s why, Muse 105-mile border trade zone has grandly emerged.

Muse 105-mile border trade zone is beautifully situated amidst hummocks on Lashio-Muse Road, 6-mile away from Muse.

Our MRTV-3 crew had a chance to know the aims of implementing the border trade by the state.

The aims of implementing the border trade area are firstly, to promote the bilateral friendship between the two countries, secondly, to boost trading and reach normal trading condition, thirdly, for the government, to receive the taxes fully, the fourth one is, for the private businessmen to be able to enjoy reasonable benefits and the last one is for the smooth and secure flow of commodities.

As the benefits of changing market-oriented economic system in Myanmar, the quantity of border trade becomes larger year by year. Among them Myanmar-China border trade is the most successful.

Nowadays, as the government has opened Muse 105-mile trade zone systematically where successful trading is being implemented, the export and import departments are being run with momentum.

Everyday, the Export Department, is teeming with many agents and traders who are going to export their products to China.

At the Export Department, applying for export licenses, registration, checking the good list and taking the permission are being carried out.

Skillful staffs are carrying out these tasks systematically and swiftly.

The service personnel are carrying out the tasks for the timely completion in a short time to do trading collectively and accurately in a place.

I am Ma Ohnmar Zaw from Kyauk Me. I work for Shwe Chan Thar Company. Now, I’ve come here to apply the Export-license.

With the opening of Muse (105) miles trade zone, we get export license more easily and swiftly. As it’s done systematically, it’s a joy for us.

For the merchants who have got the Export license at the Export Department arrangements are made to be able to enter bank account.

The government is implementing the tasks in changing to the Normal Trade to get full taxes systematically from it. The tasks include making arrangements for the convenience of Banking system.

In the past, the Bank System was not used in Myanma Border Trade. Now, we can see the good prospects of the Bank System at the Muse (105) miles Trade Zone.

According to the guidance of the Head of State, for impact management of trading in Myanmar-China border, the government has systematically set up Muse 105 miles Trade Zone.

Normal Trade System which improves the government taxes and benefits the state is being upgraded step by step by the government. And Border Trade department of the Ministry of Commerce is implementing for the fully success of the task.

The Companies that have got the Export licenses at Export Department are to be inspected at Export Control Department.

Various tasks such as checking the quality and standard of the goods, necessary documents, the sample goods and their standard rate are systematically carried out by the experienced staff.

The service personnel support national entrepreneurs with the prescribed law and rules so that they can export the goods at preference prices.

With the co-operation of the State, national entrepreneurs and traders, border trade sector is in progress and illegal trading has disappeared absolutely.

Myanmar-China Border Trade Sector, stands witness to the fact.

In Muse 105 miles Trade Zone, the service personnel of Export Control Department are controlling quality of the exports by checking quality of the sample export products accurately.

In this process, movable export goods are changed into another car. When checking is done systematically, exports are loaded into an empty truck and the goods are ready to export to the neighbouring country in time.

The heavy export goods are not changed into another truck. Service personnel get on to the car and open the package and check the items there.

As soon as the sample quality and quantity of goods are checked systematically the goods are ready to be exported.

X-Ray

After checking in Export Control Department the goods are checked at Customs Department No 4 X-Ray Scanning Unit in (Muse) with modern equipment as the final step. Afterwards, the goods are ready to be exported to the neighbouring country in time.

For the emergence of Muse 105 miles Trade Zone, the service personnel of respective ministries make daily discussions on the tasks they have carried out without fail.
