It is known that after India, Myanmar has the second largest tiger population in the world. You can find both the Bengal and Indo China Tigers in Myanmar. The Forest Department and the Wildlife Conservation Society have cooperated with each other since December 1998 up to April 2002 for 3 years and 5 months in order to take inventory of the tiger population in Myanmar. |

The tiger observation team headed on towards the town of Pan Saung after finishing their study at the mist-covered town of Nan Yun. On the way, the team passed many long legged huts, habituated by Naga nationals. Pan Saung is a lovely and peaceful border town on the Indian-Myanmar border. At Pan Saung, the team met and had interviews with the local people. Some of the team members traveled labouriously into the jungle and set up small cameras to record the movements of the tigers. |
