( Mandalay, the City Circular Road )

International Balloonists led by Peter Blazer of Switzerland are preparing in earnest for an evening flight in the vicinity of Mandalay in Central Myanmar.

It is the 7th time for the International Balloonists to visit Myanmar as they are fascinated by the good climate and hospitality.

After calculating the wind direction and speed, the balloonists selected the City Circular Road as the launching site.

After selecting the site, the balloonists make preparations for the launch. Spectators are also increasing by the hour. A portion of the City Circular Road is closed to the traffic for a while to facilitate the convenience for launching. It’s really exciting.

Time is ready for the launch. The spectators applaud as the balloons take off one by one. Surely the applause will be a boost to the balloonists spirit. It is also a happy scene exchanging greetings between the participants and the spectators comprising mostly young ones.

The balloons lift off steadily. The balloons pass over U Pein Bridge one by one … enhancing the beauty of the evening.

The balloons cruise leisurely over the green farmland and scenic spots making one feels fresh and energetic.

The balloons fly very low over the green farmlands enabling the people on the ground to greet the balloonists. It is a joyous thing to see the on-going greetings.

After that the balloons gradually gain the attitude and move on. When the balloons pass by the pagodas, we have opportunity to pay obeisance to the pagodas. It is a rare opportunity to do so.

In the mean time, we hear the clattering of weaving looms from the ground. With the harmonious beat of clattering looms, the pilot makes a closer flight by the pagoda to capture the snapshot of the Buddha Image. The spectators just come out and make hearty greetings which is really enthralling to the balloonists.

The balloonists have wonderful opportunity to photography everything that they pass by Beautiful scenic views are captured in abundant.

Slowly and steadily, the balloon flies across the Taungthaman Lake. It is awesome to see the sunrays reflecting. The sun set scene as seen from the balloon is more beautiful and picturesque.

As flying time is nearing the end, the balloons are looking for landing sites. Some are beginning to land. It is more exciting to choose the right landing spot for a balloon.

After selecting the most possibly convenient landing site, we land to the enthusiastic welcome of spectators. They help in every way they can.

Local people’s hearty and enthusiastic welcome energizes the balloonists for the launch yet to come the next day.
