The State Constitution is lifeblood of a nation. Accordingly, the National Convention is successfully convening at present, with the participation of delegates of the national races and all masses and classes with an objective to draw the State Constitution which is the first phase of the 7-point Road Map of the State will be pursuing in the future. At a time the National Convention is convening successfully with greater momentum enabling to draw the State Constitution the foundation for the emergence of a new democratic State, U Hsay Htin of Shan State Army (SSA), U Khun Tun Oo of Shan Nationalities League for Democracy (SNLD) and U Sain Nyunt Lwin with the cooperation of drugs trafficking insurgents group SURA, founded the Shan State Intellectuals Advisory Council against the National Convention. They planned and attempted to secede after formation of a state, which is in name only and a great danger to Myanmar and its nationals. Their conspiracy and incitement led not only to destabilize the State but also disintegration of the national solidarity and disintegration of the Union, leading to great dangers for all the national races. Since assumption of the State duties, the government had been up- holding Our Three Main National Causes - Non-disintegration of the Union, Non-disintegration of the national solidarity and Perpetuation of sovereignty - as the national policy in carrying out the nation building tasks. At the same time the 7-point Road Map had been adopted to introduce the multi-party democracy system desired by the entire national people. Therefore, four members of the New Generation Shan State, U Hsay Htin, and two members of the Shan Nationalities league for Democracy (SNLD) were detained on 8th February 2005; and Chairman of Shan Nationalities League for Democracy (SNLD) U Khun Tun Oo and Secretary U Sai Nyunt Lwin on 9th February 2005. |
