The PyinOoLwin National Kandawgyi Gardens is set up on a grand scale with the aims of giving people peace of mind in natural surroundings, creating a heaven for botanical researchers and attracting tourists. The area of National Kandawgyi Gardens covers over 460 acres, and it's an international standard green and pleasant natural park. Inside the gardens, there is an Elevated Timber Walkway from where you can observe forests and plants, colorful flowers, small lakes, waterfalls and fountains, rare species of golden deer and Takins which can be found only in icy mountain region of Kachin State. The people can also take a rest on the benches, across the lawns and forests. Thus, the National Kandawgyi Gardens is a paradise for nature lovers. |

Moreover, there is a Walk in Aviary where local and foreign bird lovers can observe the birds in their natural habitat. An official from the National Kandawgyi Gardens explained to us about the opening of the Walk in Aviary. The aim of opening the Aviary is for the birds, to survive naturally, so that they won't feel like living in cages and, for the people, to observe the birds at close hand. We create the Aviary to be like a natural forest, so that people can observe the birds living in their natural habitat. |

In the walk, the bird enthusiasts can easily observe the birds on the ground and also those flying in the air. The area of the Aviary is 42,597 square feet, which is 0.97 acres wide. We have arranged trees for the birds where they can live naturally and find their own food as in the wild, hollow tree trunks for their nesting, and places where they can search for small insects to feed themselves. Due to the creation of waterfalls and streams, the visitors can see the birds living and roaming freely without any enclosure between the viewers and the birds. The advantage is that people can enjoy watching the birds closely in one place, instead of going into the forests to observe them. You are also invited to pay a visit to National Kandawgyi Gardens and observe rare year-worn trees and wildlife while enjoying the beauties and sweet fragrance of colourful flowers blooming in the garden. |
