Kristel Yap
News Anchor, Myanmar International TV |
Hi! I am Kristel, an AB Communication Arts degree holder and the youngest among MITV's newscasters. I graduated from a Manila-based all-girls college (Miriam College formerly known as Maryknoll College). I was quite an active student during my college days. Aside from being a consistent Dean's Lister, I was involved to many extra-curricular activities. I was part of the college newsletter, writing feature articles and news items. I was also one of my college's representatives in a program (Rush TV) aired at a local channel in Manila (Studio 23), as both scriptwriter and TV presenter. During my final year in college, I was deeply involved in the largest student organization, where I served as an elected President. It has only been over three years since I graduated but my work experiences have been both good and indeed memorable. Shortly after I graduated, I worked for Conqueror International (known for brands Rusty Lopez and Centropelle) as a marketing specialist. A year after, I moved to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to work in the research and product development division of a large manufacturing firm. After some years of moving in and out of the Philippines, acting like a nomad in finding a career that can make me feel the satisfaction and challenges of belonging to a home, I finally see myself doing something close to fulfill a lifelong dream to influence. |

Daw Ling Maung Pan
Assistant Director (News/Outdoor), Myanmar International TV |
I was born in Mindat of Chin State on 27th March, the Armed Forces Day. I attended Haling University Campus and Yangon University majoring in English. I became announcer Grade-2 for Myanmar Radio (English Program) on 27th October 1993. Aside from listening, we also have to write scripts for radio plays, Topics Potpourri, Visit Myanmar Year and stories for Children's Delight. You can say that Radio is my 1st love and TV is my 2nd best friend. Beginning 2001, I've been working at MITV for news reading, news translation from Myanmar to English, script writing for outdoor travelogue and indoor programs like interview, talk and discussion. Apart from that, senior news anchors have to cover the local tours, the burning of seized narcotic drugs, press conference as well as foreign goodwill visits by the Heads of State. I'm very proud of our news team presenting several breaking news on time especially during the Nargis cyclone in 2008, multi-party general elections 2010 followed by the Hluttaw sessions, by elections 2011 and the very recent Rakhine State incident. As there are rooms for improvement, working at news room of MITV is still very challenging for me even after working for 19 years. |

Daw Myat Kyaye Hmone
Officer (Anchor), Myanmar International TV |
I'm Myat Kyaye Hmone of Myanmar International (MI). I'm a news anchor, presenter and reporter. I graduated from Yangon University, majoring in Mathematics. At the time when I continued my studies for qualified class, MRTV recruited new blood for the new English Channel MRTV-3. I applied the post for news anchor and luckily I was appointed in MRTV-3 news section in 2001. Since then, I have been part of news translation and presenting, hosting programs, current affairs and talk shows. The thing that I really enjoy in this career is organizing the key points and supportive points between the script and images through innovative ways for the audience. In 2005, I was chosen to join three-month training course for program production, sponsored by JICA and NHK in Japan. It was a good experience for me to gain valuable knowledge and ideas about how to write a script, to arrange important pictures, to convey the message that we want, to collect the major points, what are the interesting points for the audience, and so on. In 2009, I was promoted as staff officer (Anchor) of MRTV-3. In 2010, MRTV-3 was re-branded Myanmar International (MI), jointly ventured with Shwe Than Lwin Media Company and also hired foreign news anchors. Now, MITV channel is broadcasting 24- hours from the Headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw Tatkone. You can watch all our programs anytime. Your suggestions, advices and comments are invited. |

Daw Su Ma Ma Tun
News Anchor, Myanmar International TV |
Mingalarbar! I have been serving my duty as a program producer in Myanmar International Television channel under the Ministry of Information for almost 9 years. Apart from doing program production works, I have also been taking the role of presenter and newscaster. I got my degree of B.Sc. (Honors) Physics in 2002 and Master of Engineering Physics degree in 2004. In spite of having Master's Degree, I got interested in media, which is a kind of deep and subtle art. So, I decided to become a media personality and joined this job in 2004. In 2009, I started doing the tasks of presenter and news reader. Apart from that, I've also dedicated most of my time in producing various programs including documentary, infotainment, travelogue and current affairs. So, apparently I am performing dual roles as producer and presenter. I hardly noticed it’s been 9 years of fruitful career. If I get the chance, I am eager to produce other interesting programs that convey traditional customs and culture of national races residing in southern and northern parts of our country. Meanwhile, I also want to become more professional in presenting programs and news reading. |
