Every national residing in the Union of Myanmar has their own distinctive and respective customs and traditions. According to realize and observe the traditional costumes, adornments and utensils for the posterity which were used since the times immemorial to date, the cultural Museum were opened in the capital cities of respective States and Divisions.A cultural museum has been opened for Chin nationals in Hakha, the capital of Chin State. The displays in the museum are booths paintings and photos, utenspons and costumes, adornments, weapons and tools, musical instruments as well as literature. |

As we entered the arts and photos booth, the first thing we saw was a painting of Chin-Bamar friendship milestone. The photos of Chin traditional egg-horoscope reading, Mindeat, Nat post, wreastling and costumes of the olden days and the present modern days and the present modern day’s fashions are also displayed there. The painting of the “Reeh lake”, a prominence of the Chin State can be also seen at the same booth. |

On the night side of the utensils and costumes booth, there are the sculptures of Tiddim and Hakha Chin couples beautifully dressed up in their traditional costumes and a sculpture of Mindat Chin couple is on the left.The daily utensils of the Chin nationals such as gourd water container, gourd spoon, liquar cup, wooden plate, dagger sash and praying beer pot are neatly show in the booth. We can see the loom, cotton gin and iron apinning-rod there and stone weapons, earthen pipe,bamboo hat and bamboo basket used by their fore fathers’ are also shown in the booth. |

A sample of Chin Traditional House and nat-posts are also shown there. In the musical instrument booth, there are drums, various sizes of gongs, timber musical instrument, horn flute and gourd musical instruments which have been used at the traditional festivals. |

Ornaments of Chin ladies used throughout the successive eras such as combs, hairpins, earrings, necklaces, bracelets and traditional silver belt are more grandeur in the adornments booth. Some weapons such as bows and arroyos, spears, shields, swords and home-made guns used by the Chin hunters are also displayed in the museum.We can observed the traditional cultural of the Chin national races by visiting the Hakha Cultural Museum. |
