Language of a nation is chronicled by literature and likewise, musical notations, formed by mellow tones, are literature for musical instruments. Musical alphabets are noted down by seven English alphabets such as A, B, C, D, E, F and G. These alphabets are used to direct low and high musical tones. There are seven kinds of Myanmar musical notations. They are Than Hman or one tone, Khun Hna Pauk or seven tones, Chaukpauk or six tones, Nga Bauk or five tones, laybauk or four tones, Thonebauk or three tones and Hnapauk or two tones which are equal to C, D, E, F, G, A and B in the international notes. The notes are called in French as Doh, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La and Ti.The trainees are also taught the international musical notations by numerical signs of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. We have two kinds of musical notations, the first one is the international notation and the second one is the eastern musical notation. The international notation is formed by cords combined on left and right sides but the eastern notation is a system written on original tunes and melody. The international notation is more suitable for musical instrument players or musicians and the eastern notation is more appropriate for vocalists as well as for aboe, violin and other musical instrument players. |
