Fossilized Wood Garden

Myanmar people take pride of Bagan for its numerous ancient cultural heritages. The architecture of Bagan’s historic buildings attracts people from far away places.

With the support from the government, the wood fossilized garden was built on an acre of land by the chairman of B.G.C, U Thein Lwin.The fossilized wood were abundantly found near Ayeyarwadddy bank in Bagan as well as around Turin Taung mountain. These fossilized wood are one of the natural resources.Therefore, these woods are collected and created as a rock garden.

You’ll see fountain, small bridges, resting places, lacquer living room and bed rooms. From the tower, beautiful scenes of Ayeyarwaddy and Tankyi mountain can be seen.Anyone who come to see the beauty of the garden amazed and appreciated design because it is magnificently created.

At the lacquer living-room, it is decorated with lacquer doors, lacquer tables, lacquer cupboards and chairs made from palm trees. When you see the paintings from the wall, I’m sure you’ll certainly feel as if you were in ancient Bagan.
Lacquer bedrooms are furnished with lacquer bed, various kinds of lacquer ware and wall paintings.

The two storey building which is 80 feet by 40 feet was built by granite from Thahton, Mon state. The aim of this building is to remember that Htayyavada Buddhism was flourished in Bagan since the reign of King Anawrahta.
At the basement of the main building, is a place to manufacture gems studded 3 dimension paintings and lacquer ware.
The upper room is displayed as a showroom and various kinds of lacquer-ware. Therefore who come to buy the lacquer can buy anything they like at one setting.
B.G.C also display chairs made from the stem of palm trees and paintings which depict the beauty and nature of Myanmar.
Besides, in the evening, you can relax at the balcony of fossilized wood garden enjoying the beauty of Bagan. So let me invite all of you to pay a visit to the land of Bagan.
