Gold is a kind of metal much valued by everyone because of its rarity, beauty and high value as well as the fact that it can be saved.

A major gold mine in Myanmar is the Kyauk Pahto Mine, which is situated near Banbway Gone in Salingyi Township, Sagaing Division. The No.2 Mining Enterprise being the processing by extracting the raw metals and refining them with the foaming process, and with the Cyanide process.

Kyauk Pahto Special Metal (2) gold extraction work focuses on two phases of the extraction process. They are

1. Drilling and dynamiting
2. Soil and gravel transportation

The earth and raw metals are sent directly through the check-point Gate (2) to be crushed at various stages by means of the jaw crusher and cone crusher. The deposited earth is conveyed to the three Ball Mills to be crushed to the size of 200 meshes..Selection is done after the deposit earth has been crushed to the required size. Then they are sent to the refining factories/ refineries. Next, the raw oxide ores are crushed and sent directly to the CIP factories.The factory uses 120 tons of oxide ores per day. The sulphur-reduced gold dust processed through the FBR method, is mixed with cyanide and the molten gold is captured by radioactive carbon. Then the oxidated carbon absorbs gold from the solution which contains gold.

250 kg of the gold containing solution is put into the stripping column. To obtain a solution which bears gold, 3% CN and 1% Caustic are mixed and pressure and temperature treated. The molten mixture of gold and silver is called Dore Metal. This is put into the Turn Cell and turned round to get Dore Anode.

After this process, 99.99% pure gold plates are heated to get gold blocks.This is a record of the gold extraction by the Kyauk Pahto Mine Special Metal (2) Project of the No (2) Mining Enterprise.
