Hninzigone Home for the Aged

All the human beings have to walk according to different ways of life and at the end, we all have to face the hour of sunset- last hour of our life. It is a noble work to give assistance to grandpas and grandmas- weak and feeble- and helpless. |

Though some old people are helped by their families, some needy old people are looked after by the Home for the Aged in Myanmar. One of the homes carrying out the noble works is Hninzigone Home for the Aged in Bahan Township in Yangon. |

This Home was founded by a noble lady Daw Oo Zun in 1933. It is now a well administered Non-Governmental Organization in Myanmar. At present, the home can facilitate 100 grandpas and 120 grandmas. |

The Home has rules of admission in giving priority to the most needy.To be eligible for admission, the prospective applicants must be at least 70 years of age, unable to sustain his or her own means and has no prospect of support. Regarding health care of grandpas and grandmas, a health supervision committee comprising medical specialist and well experienced doctors supervises the works of hospital of the Home. Indigenous medicines are also available to cater those who prefer traditional ways.Grandpas and grandmas can also enjoy reading in the Home library, saying prayers or by meditation in the prayer hall. Walking in the compound or engaging in any kind of hobby is suitable for the aged people according to their own interest. |

We present this programme to highlight the social activities of the Hninzigone Home for the Aged to last long in contributing great endeavors for happiness of the needy grandpas and grandmas who are heading for the sunset in life. |
