Lashio is the capital of northern Shan State. It is over 2,800 ft above the sea level. Lashio is a trading town prospering in economy. There is a fine weather and pleasant senario as the town is surrounded by green and lush forests.

In various parts of Myanmar, there are some hot springs. Among them, Lashio hot spring near Lashio in Northern Shan State is the well-known one. Chemicals such as sulphate, chloride, fluoride, silica, phosphorous, calcium, Maganesium, sodium and potassium included in the hot spring. The temperature of the natural hot water is 52˙C. For convenient recreation of the visitors arrangements have been made to introduce modern baths and ponds with installation of pipes for water from the hot spring. By taking hot bath, it is good for health and skin diseases can be cured.
