Innwa is one of the memoriable cities as well as Royal capital city. The name of the palace is “Yadanapura” meaning treasures land. It is built by King Tadominphya in 726 AD and it is located at the confluence of Ayeyarwaddy river and Myitnge river and 11 miles from Mandalay. |

One of the significant buildings in Innwa is “Aungmyaebonesan big monastery” donated by Lamadaw Me Nu, beloved wife of King Bagyidaw Mintayar in 1198AD. This monastery has a lot of antique arts of decorative work with cement. You can study the archway ornamental backdrop of the thrones building with tier room and flower curving. |

Bargayar monastery is situated at the southwest corner of Innwa. It is built by King Bagyidaw in 1196 AD. “Kyun” or “Teak” monastery is built with 267 teak pillars. It is 180 feet in length and 103 feet wide. In Bargaryar monastery, you can see archieological heritages of Innwa Era. |

You can also see military stronghold which show the national spirit. It is built on the bank of Ayeyarwaddy river where there are three military strongholds. It is called Sinkyone stronghold. It portrayed how we are attempted to defend our country in those days. Innwa antient capital city is a collection of Myanmar traditional arts and crafts. |
