Lifestyles along the Ayeyarwaddy Mandalay to Pyay (Part - I)

Mandalay is the second capital city of Myanmar and also the royal capital of large Myanmar King. Mandalay is the famous culture heritage site and it is the mainly between the upper part of Myanmar and the lower part of Myanmar. Now, MRTV-3 crew arrived at Gawwun jetty in Mandalay and we will be crossing down the Ayeyarwaddy river by Pandaw 2 from Mandalay to Pyay and we will be stopping at very places in Upper Myanmar.

From Gawwun jetty, we began our journey. As we left from Mandalay, we saw many boats and ships going up and going down in the Ayeyarwaddy river and many cute little birds and beautiful scenery. Later, we continued our journey down the Ayeyarwaddy river. We saw Sagaing bridge built in Myanmar and also has the longest life span in the country. And we also saw the Sagaing hill on the other side at the river. Next, we arrived at Shwekjeyat jetty which is on the other side of Sagaing hill.

We are now taking a brief stop at Shwekjeyat jetty, near Sagaing bridge at Amarapura Township in Mandalay Division. Other side of Shwekjeyat jetty , you can see many pagodas and popular Sagaing Hill. Sagaing hill is one of the famous hill, in Myanmar because many pagodas, temples and monasteries are located on the Sagaing hill. As we left from Shwekyeyat jetty, we sail under the Sagaing bridge.

Ayeyarwaddy river which flows from North to South in Myanmar originated from Maykha and Maylikha rivers in the Northern part of Myanmar. It is 1,238 miles long. It is a very useful river for the Myanmar people and also one of the natural beauties of Myanmar.

We continued our journey along the Ayeyarwaddy river and then we arrived at Yandabo village in Pakhoku district where treaty of Yandabo was singed in 1855 between the Myanmar King and the British.

We now arrived at Yadabo village a very small rural village that specialize in pot making. Dependent on the revering economy the villages famous for the production of terra-cotta pottery make from the river bank mud.

In Yadabo village, a center of pot production people earn their living on pottery cottage industries. We saw the pottery making process in this village. And then, we proceeded from Yandabo village. From Yadabo village, we continued our journey.
