( Mandalay to Lashio )

Mingalabarshin, now, I am at the Mandalay International Airport, Our MRTV-3 crew is going to visit Lashio in the Northern Shan State. We can directly go to Yangon to Lashio by air but our crew is arrived at Mandalay by air and then we proceeded to Lashio by car. So, we are study significant scenario along the route. Now, we are on Mandalay-Pyin Oo Lwin motorway driving the up and down the hill. Pyin Oo Lwin has 69 kilometers away from Mandalay and over a thousand above the sea level. It is famous as a hill resort. The weather is pleasant and cold weather all the year round because of the blooming of the various kinds of seasonal flowers, so, it is called a city of flowers.

After passing through the Pyin Oo Lwin Township, we are entering the Naung-Cho Township, it is also a starting point of Northern Shan State Here, Asia World Company limited is upgrading the Pyin Oo Lwin Naung Cho-Thinbaw motor way. The total length of the road to be under taken is 2200 kilometers and the extended project of the road is 4 feet wide.

So also, the bridges have been constructed by the Asia World company limited. The new roads and bridges will provide better transport links for the peoples of the division as well as for economic undertakings.

Moreover, we can travel in a short time between the regions and the Major cities. As we arrive the Shan state, we see clear changes of the beauties forests and hill ranges surrounding the environs. In plain, we may see brown or yellow color soil but the Shan state is red color.

Got-hteik via duct is in the Naung Cho Township in Northern Shan state. The bridge is built the two mountain top after crossing over a large cave just after Naung Cho rail station on Lashio.

Mandalay rail-road. The bridge is 2260 feet long. It’s steel pole is 100 feet high. It has been built over a 100 years ago. Although the viaduct is destroyed in the second-World war, Myanma railway repaired the bridge. It is the most important viaduct in Mandalay Lashio rail-road section and the second highest viaduct in the world. On the way, Mandalay-Lashio Motorway, just behind me is the most beautiful place called Got-twin between Naung-Cho and Got-Mae. We feel freely driving motorway in the hill-side. While coming down in the wide motor-way, we can see the route pointing to uphill at another hill in front but we can drive safely as Aisa World company limited has extended and upgraded up and down the motor way.

Our MRTV-3, Crew enjoyed the lunch at Kyeik Mae`. We can find Shan food, fresh and delicious. As the Shan food are hot and fresh, so, it is matching with the cold weather. The food stall travelers enjoy Shan food and have a rest as well as for the Motor car engine. Traveler can buy some regional products from the stalls.

Baw Kyo village is located in Dhibawe. There is a pagoda named by Moat Htaw. The pagoda is 7 miles from Thibaw, Pagoda festival is yearly held in grand manner. So, it is known as Baw Kyo pagoda festival. It is said that Baw Kyo comes from Shan Language pot to Pot means father in Shan Language. So, pot to means the place where the father welcomes his daughter. It is said that king Anawrahta, Queen Saw Mon Hla welcomed by her father Mine Maw Saw Bwa, chief of Minemaw at Bawkyo.

Thibaw is in Kyeikmei District and is also on the Mandalay Lashio Motor road and on the rail. It is on the bank of the Dothata waddy or Myintnge river which is flowing around the town. So, the scene of the location of the town is beautiful as it situated on the bank of the river.

Now, our MRTV-3 crew arrived at Lashio, we drove about 5 and ½ hour from Mandalay to Lashio. It is 280 kilometres from Mandalay Lashio is a capital of Northern Shan State. It is also 2800 feet above sea level. Lashio is a training town prospering economy. There is a fine weather and pleasant scenario as the town is surrounded by large and green forests, mix national races of Shan, Kachin, Lishaw, Palaung and Bamar are residing there. Tourists can visit to Lashio by air, Motor way as well as by train.
