Wondeful Murals of Nanda Myinnya Temple

The entrance of the Legacy of Bagan Special Exhibition is decorated with the replica of a Therapa Gate. The Therapa Gate is well-known for its architectural design and it is the only one entrance gate for ancient capital city ‘Bagan’.

Bagan pagodas and temples are well-known for murals as interior decoration. As one goes inside the model of the pagoda, one can observe a lot through these wonderful murals. While we are visiting round the legacy of Bagan special exhibition, we can view also the model of Nanda-Myin-Nya Temple built in 13th century A.D near Min-Nan-Thu village. You will feel that as if you are in the real Nanda-Myin-Nya temple and you will find many wall paintings and ceiling paintings and you can find also many paintings concerning with Buddha-hood and also many beautiful paintings like Law-Ka-Nat in standing position, and also in a mythical fish with a Kein-Daya riding the Makara. It’s a very beautiful and it has many intricate floral design are also found here.

Inside the Nanda-Myin-Nya temple you can see the painting depicts the drawing of the temple from the flint to the top. This painting was drawn on the walls of the eastern vestibule of Nanda-Myin-Nya temple. Moreover, Buddha image flank by two disciples can be seen on the throne. Every part of the temple is drawn in detail and the arch pediments can also be seen in this painting. Most of the top Zedis on top of a sacred in almost all the temples have fallen down due to the earthquake. Nowadays, the Departments of Archaeology restored the missing top zedi part, this painting served as a concrete evidence to reconstruct in original design.

Both sides of this image, the painting you can see Kein-Daya riding the Makara with mythical fish and also there is the wall paintings on both sides and perhaps there is also Law-Ka-Nat in standing position. Apart from these wall paintings and ceiling paintings there are also mural paintings depicting the Buddha-hood.
