Mandalay Yadanabon capital was established by King Mindon in 1218 Myanmar Era. |

The wall has abutments and all other fixtures to defend the city from being attacked and there are embellishments like the 48 tiered roofs. The walled enclosure has 12 gateways. Yadanabon golden palace was destroyed by the Allied bombing during World War II.The palace has now been reconstructed retaining its original design and architecture and was completed in 1993. |

The royal glass pavilion situated not only at the centre of other four grand structures but also at the center of the palace grounds and at the center of main gate, thus constituting the grand centre-piece. The other buildings were constructed around it. So, it was named ‘central pavilion’.It was also the place where the chief queen had her coronation and where ceremonies for novitiation of young royalty took place. |

In the building, there is the Bamayathana Bee Throne which is made of caraway wood and the figure at the base is that of a bumblebee.In the interior of the building, is the royal couch in the main hall which is 100 ft by 9 ft and the ceiling rises 62 ft thus adding to its magnificence. |

The royal glass pavilion is decorated with glass mosaic embedded in gilding which is a Myanmar typical handicraft passed from generation to generation for over 900 years.It is prominent as the main building of Myanan Sankyaw Shwenandaw golden palace since the time of Myanmar monarchs and many auspicious occasions have taken place there. |
