Archaeological Museum Pakhangyi ( II)

The status of a Nation can be known by studying their own cultural inheritance. Myanmar Nationals had stood high on their own cultural stance since time inmemorial. We can witness details about that in archaeological museums. Among them, Pa-Khan-Gyi archaeological museum is very prominent.Pa-Khan-Gyi Archaeological museum is situated in Pa-Khan-Gyi Region, Yezagyo Township, Magway Division.

There are altogether 138 items displayed. At one place of the museum, manuscripts in palm leaves of Konbaung era Kamava Gift written on gold sheet in the shape of tamarind seed, Ribbon for Bundle of plam leaf (Bone hair pin) early Konbaung era , an ornamental backdrop for decorations on the wall of monasteries (iron spickes) big circular tray and stand were displayed. These are rare cultural heritages of Konbaung Era.

Utensils of Yadanabon Era such as, bamboo-ribbed roll of cloth for wrapping up plam-leaf manuscript, minister’s headdress and the case, mau’tou helmet and the case, tray with covered stand and the stapes of celestial beings used while King Min Done was accepting his reign are also displayed. These handicrafts of over 100 years can also tell the cultural status of Yadanabon Era.

Myanmar coins in Figures of wooden agree figure of colony Era, and other coins also show the history of an Era. Sunoak (lunch box) which is crafted into single wooden block and glass mosaic embedded gilted in gold of Pwedawoak (lunch tray) were essential things in Myanma Artistic field. Gildings in gold of glass mosaic embedded the statue of male spirit and female spirit paying respects to the Buddha, Gyo Taing (or) special post with a symbolic figure representing an individual planet, erected around a pagoda and Golden earrings of ancient Myanmar also proved how high our Myanmar culture is. By studying Pa-Khan-Gyi Archaeological Museum, we can feel and known about the history and cultural artistic of ancient Myanmar.
