Archaeological Museum Pakhangyi ( I )

Myanmar has its own culture and Myanmar people have stood tall in successive eras.The high standard of Myanmar culture is witnessed when you visit and study Archaeological Museums, the clusters of cultural heritages. Among these museums, Pa Khan Gyi Archaeological museum is prominent. It is in Pa Khan Gyi region, Yay Sa Gyoe Township, Magway Region. Altogether 138 items are displayed there.

In one booth, Stone Age awl, bone fish-hock, fossil leaves and bracelets are displayed. You can study that Stone-Age life existed in Myanmar.
You can also view casket shaped gold necklaces of Pyu era and beautiful designs of necklaces decorated with Pyu alphabets. Various hollow cylinder shaped gold beads, other beads of the same shape and colour and Pyu era signed coins are exhibited. Therefore, the high standard and outstanding handicrafts in Pyu era can be observed.
The glazed jar and earthen oil lamp used in Bagan era not only depict the standard of handicrafts but also the social community of Bagan era.

The interesting materials of Pinya era are Golden hams a Mythical bird figurine, ceramic plates and dry horoscopes.The items which overshadow the history of Innwa era are clay pipes, water goblets, water pots and Shin Zabu Dipa Daza award offered by Thalun King. These are the characteristics of the development of Innwa era.The Royal couch of Nyaung Yan era where the King and Queens took rest can be seen at the museum.
