Rakhine State is located the west of the Union of Myanmar and it is a coastal stoop of Land. It’s total area is 1,4200 Square miles.Sithwe is its capital and it is a sea port town. Rakhine is a delta area formed by the May Yu, the Kalatan and Lemyo rivers.The majority of its inhabitants are Rakhine. But there are also other nationalities such as Dienet, Thet, Mro, Maramargyi,etc.

The Rakhines have their own language and literature amd high standard culture. There are some of historical monuments and pagodas including Sitthaung Pagoda at the ancient capital Myauk Oo Myohaung.

The Sitthwe Point and Ngapali Sea beach are noted recreation centres attracting visitors from at home and abroad.

Rakhines, another union nationalities have seven ethic branches. Like Thadingyut festivals, like Festival of Myanmars, Rakhine rear Thadingyut Festival is the gathering of hosts who comes to perform religious deeds as well as to enjoy merry-making.At this festival,offering of cooked rice to the Buddha called Htaminhtaung is ceremoniously held with virtual performances.

Doeyein which originated in Myauk Oo period of Rakhine history is very interesting. The striking feature of Doekyin is that sounds and music are lively and delirious and the Doe dance is exciting.
